This Resurrection weekend we visited our sister church in the village of Limany to help them celebrate.<\/p>\n

Limany, (which means estuaries) sits about 50 miles from Odessa on the shore of a large estuary of the Black Sea called “Berizovksy.”<\/p>\n

Back in 2007 Pastor Anatoly and his church were doing evangelism in some of the villages around the estuary. They went through the village sharing the gospel. There was no church in this Limany, not even an Orthodox Church. Since Limany has a larger population that the surrounding villages they decided to plant a church there.<\/p>\n

Thankfully the weather held out and we didn’t have any rain.<\/p><\/div>\n

Many in the village practice traditional divination, sorcery, and fortune-telling. Thankfully now there is a handful of faithful believers and they even have a home where they meet on Saturdays for their regular services.<\/p>\n

Pastor Anatoly and his family live most of the time in Odessa, where he is on the pastoral board of our church. However, his main ministry is Limany where he spends several days a week. Anatoly is an evangelist at heart. He continues to preach the gospel not just in Limany but also in the surrounding villages.<\/p>\n

It’s always special in the village to have guests who are skilled musicians<\/p><\/div>\n

Our group did a great job leading the people in worship of a risen Savior. These times are special for villages churches who rarely get to enjoy such worship.<\/p>\n

Many guests from the village showed up for the Easter service.<\/p><\/div>\n

I preached from 1 Corinthians 15 about the significance of the resurrection.<\/p>\n

My father-in-law, Vladimir, is the cornerstone of our evangelistic team.<\/p><\/div>\n

Thankfully, God allowed us to give a clear gospel message focusing on the meaning of the resurrection as more than a tradition but true eternal hope for all who trust in Christ!<\/p>\n

Even a few dogs heard the gospel \ud83d\ude09<\/p><\/div>\n
