You might be wondering, why this blog went silent over the past month!<\/p>\n

Here’s the simple truth, I stopped writing because of family issues.<\/p>\n

What I mean to say is that my parents came to Ukraine and we have been traveling with them and spending as much time as possible with them.<\/p>\n

When grandparents visit their missionary kids it’s pretty special, so I let this blog go for a little while!<\/p>\n

Don’t worry though, I’ll be updating you soon on our adventures, especially in Eastern Ukraine along the front lines of the war.<\/p>\n

In the meantime my dad started\u00a0writing about our joint travels on his new blog<\/a> and I think you should check it out.<\/p>\n

Did you know the name \u201cUkraine\u201d means \u201cborderland?\u201d Late last week Nancy and I parted ways in the Western Ukrainian city of Lviv and Caleb and I traveled from border to border in this borderland.<\/em> It is about the size of Washington, Oregon and Idaho combined but with over three times the population.<\/p>\n

It borders both Europe on the west and the old Soviet Union on the east. This has resulted in wars being fought here over it as well as ideological differences as well as the rich soil and access to the Black Sea.
