{"id":6249,"date":"2016-02-12T15:31:50","date_gmt":"2016-02-12T13:31:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sukofamily.org\/?p=6249"},"modified":"2016-02-12T19:55:02","modified_gmt":"2016-02-12T17:55:02","slug":"it-could-be-demons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sukofamily.org\/it-could-be-demons\/","title":{"rendered":"It Could Be Demons"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;It could be demons&#8221; the lady told me, referring to her adult son, &#8220;But I don&#8217;t think so because he&#8217;s a really kind boy.&#8221; \u00a0Her son, who suffers from epilepsy was sitting\u00a0just outside the door in the hallway as we talked.<\/p>\n<p>The woman, a refugee from Eastern, Ukraine had asked me to meet with her.<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VjBgO7tf38I\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Check out the video above if you want to see a little of\u00a0our church services and refugee outreach.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>I sat and patiently listened as she told her story, one that included pain,\u00a0bitterness and a search for truth. I like the starry walls!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I read to her several verses from John that show\u00a0why Jesus came to earth and how we can have eternal life. So I moved on to talk with her about God&#8217;s holiness and how Jesus being God had that same holiness.<\/p>\n<p>I also find the deity of Christ is often the line of separation, the one truth\u00a0the unbelieving world\u00a0constantly\u00a0stumbles upon.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, I was not surprised when she interjected, &#8220;Yes, I know Jesus is god, just like I&#8217;m god.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>What did catch me off guard was what happened next. About 15 seconds after I began talking to her about the deity of Christ her son was seized by an\u00a0epileptic\u00a0fit.<\/p>\n<p>Was the seizure demonic? I can&#8217;t tell you for sure, but if it was, it was well-timed; as it immediately stopped our conversation about the deity of Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>What I can tell you, and what I told this woman, was that her false view of Jesus and salvation is no less than a demonic deception. The Gospel of Jesus is a great healer, but it&#8217;s also a great disruptor.<\/p>\n<p>It dislodges long hidden sins that lay nearly silent in the cold depths of the heart. It opens\u00a0wounds of the heart that are covered with layer after layer of scar tissue.<\/p>\n<p>It messes with our personal systems of burying hurts, renaming sins, and disguising guilt in robes of self-righteousness.<\/p>\n<p>You can&#8217;t really\u00a0mess with things like long-held guilt, pride, and secret sins without messing with the demonic world. However, don&#8217;t think for a minute that means I&#8217;ve given up! Usually the resistance is greatest just before victory is declared.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not for nothing Satan is rearing his ugly head, I have preached the Gospel and I will continue to preach the Gospel.
