I haven&#8217;t said much about this but we&#8217;ve been doing some remodel in our apartment this summer so we&#8217;ve been living in Christina&#8217;s parents apartment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Pray that the remodel would be finished quickly so we can get back into our place.<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Three Types of Repentance<\/h2>\n<h3>1. Repentance to Salvation<\/h3>\n<p>For having sorrow in a godly way results in repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regrets. But the sorrow of the world produces death. (2Co 7:10)<\/p>\n<h3>2. Repentance from a Particular Sin<\/h3>\n<p>I am afraid that when I come my God may again humble me before you and that I may have to grieve over many who formerly lived in sin and have not repented of their impurity, sexual immorality, and promiscuity that they once practiced. (2Co 12:21)<\/p>\n<h3>3. \u00a0Repentance as a Way of Life<\/h3>\n<p>Do not be conformed to this world, but continually be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you may be able to determine what God&#8217;s will is\u2014what is proper, pleasing, and perfect. (Rom 12:2)<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Four characteristics of true repentance<\/h2>\n<h3>1. \u00a0A Clear Understanding of the Gospel<\/h3>\n<div>Repentance without a clear understanding of Gospel truth is nothing more than temporary sadness over the pain that sin has caused you.<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3>2. \u00a0True Personal Faith in Jesus<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div>What happens when people try to &#8220;repent&#8221; without putting their faith in Christ? They end up in a never-ending cycle of &#8220;repentance,&#8221; temporary calm in their life until once again they fall.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h3>3. Deep Sadness Over Personal Sin<\/h3>\n<div>\u00a0Sadness and grief over our sin is not the definition of repentance but they are part of repentance. When a person repents he begins to understand how truly horrible his sin really is before a holy God.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h3>4. \u00a0A Life that Produces Fruit of Repentance<\/h3>\n<div>Real repentance leads to real faith, and sign of real faith is fruit.\u00a0Salvation is after all, God&#8217;s work and part of that work is the fruit that He produces in the life of every believer.<\/div>\n<h2>Resources<\/h2>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fivesolas.com\/watson\/drepenti.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Thomas Watson, the doctrine of repentance<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00AA31VB4\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B00AA31VB4&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=sukfam-20&amp;linkId=D3AJO4FG2RT7PFT5%22%3ERepentance%3C\/a%3E%3Cimg%20src=%22http:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=sukfam-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B00AA31VB4\" target=\"_blank\">J.C.
