{"id":555,"date":"2012-02-28T10:22:00","date_gmt":"2012-02-28T10:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sukofamily.org\/wordpress\/2012\/02\/february-update\/"},"modified":"2012-04-30T08:58:51","modified_gmt":"2012-04-30T08:58:51","slug":"february-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sukofamily.org\/february-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Good Soil in Chisinau"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aEUkrNbmZU4\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<table width=\"100%\" border=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"justify\" valign=\"top\" width=\"100%\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>A Snowy Road to Chisinau<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Friday morning I went to the bus station in Odessa but when I got there I found out there were no buses going to Chisinau because of snow.\u00a0 After a few cold hours of waiting a bus finally pulled up.\u00a0 Pastor Eduard met me in Chisinau and he who was very grateful to see me because he had been planning the Good Soil seminar in his church for some time.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">A big thanks to everyone who was praying for me!\u00a0 Not only did I make to Chisinau successfully but the Lord blessed my time there!\u00a0 Pastor Eduard is the director of our CMI schools in Moldova. He invited me to come help lead the seminar on a Saturday in his church.\u00a0 He also invited a few pastors from other churches with-in the region. We had 30 people for the Saturday seminar.\u00a0 One of the pastor&#8217;s was from Romania and he didn&#8217;t know Russian so we had simultaneous translation from Russian to Romanian.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">On Sunday morning I preached in Eduard&#8217;s church and then on Sunday evening I did a 40 minute presentation for about 100 of the church members.\u00a0 They received the training and the tools very positively. Unfortunately I could only provide them with the Russian versions.\u00a0 There is a great need to have a Romanian version available but it is still in the process of being translated.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\"><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/cmieurasia.org\/2012\/02\/good-soil-in-chisinau\/\">Check out pictures and video from Chisinau<\/a><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\"><strong>Praise for safe travel despite the snow<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Pray for those who attended the seminar that they will put to use what they learned<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Pray for the translation of the Romanian versions of &#8220;The Story of Hope&#8221; and &#8220;The Way to Joy&#8221;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: large;\"><strong>First Time Teaching<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<hr size=\"1\" \/>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Once again, thank, you, thank you for your prayers!&#8221;\u00a0 Preparing for my first time teaching at our institute in Russian made me a nervous. &#8220;What if I get tongue tied? What if I can&#8217;t remember all those theological words in Russian? What if the students don&#8217;t understand me or I don&#8217;t understand them?&#8221;\u00a0 Those were the questions going through my head before I taught.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">However, I was comfortable as I taught and although I came away tired I enjoyed my time and felt that the students were engaged and also responded well to my teaching! I will be teaching the same course on two more Saturdays so please keep up your prayers. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\"><strong>Praise for a successful first class<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Pray for Caleb and the students as they finish the course<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: large;\"><strong>Land of the Bible<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<hr size=\"1\" \/>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">March 26-30 we will be teaching\u00a0&#8220;Bible Backgrounds&#8221;.\u00a0This course explains how the the geography, culture and traditions of the Bible help us gain a better understanding of the text. We are thankful to have teachers who have spent over 20 years in Israel coming.\u00a0 I am confident that this will be a beneficial time for our students.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;\"><em><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Would you take time to pray for the students and for the teachers?<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\"><br \/>\nBecause tuition covers a small percentage of the actual cost of the course the rest must be provided for through donations. We are expecting 15-20 students for this class and our cost per student is about $50. If you are able please consider how you might provide even if it is just for one student it will make a big difference to that student!.
