in his letter to the Philippians.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Php 3:7-10<br \/>\n(7) But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ.<br \/>\n(8) Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ<br \/>\n(9) and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith\u2014<br \/>\n(10) that I may <strong>know him<\/strong> and the power of his resurrection, and may <strong>share his sufferings<\/strong>, <strong>becoming like him in his death<\/strong>,<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>There were three things on Paul&#8217;s bucket list.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>He wanted to know Jesus and his power better.<\/li>\n<li>He wanted to suffer for the sake of Jesus.<\/li>\n<li>He wanted to die for Jesus.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>That&#8217;s not your ordinary bucket list!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Later in the chapter Paul exhorts the Philippians to follow his example and compares his desires with those who are searching only for temporary early experiences to fulfill them.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Php 3:17-20<br \/>\n(17) Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us.<br \/>\n(18) For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ.<br \/>\n(19) Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things.<br \/>\n(20) But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h4>What really brings fulfillment?<\/h4>\n<p>When it comes down to it, you will find that checking off your bucket list items isn&#8217;t what brings fulfillment and satisfaction in life. The times in my life that have been most fulfilling and brought the greatest joy were the times I spent in service to other people, they were times when I was able to share God&#8217;s Word with others and to enjoy the sweet fellowship of brothers and sisters in Christ.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t waste your life on a bucket list!
