Last month 8 Ukrainians, 8 Moldovians and 4 Romanians gathered on the bank of the Dnister river with one common goal -to share the Good News of forgivness through Jesus Christ in the village of Chimichen.<\/p>\n

Not long ago one of the villagers, Ioan, trusted in Christ as his savior while traveling abroad. The Lord then burdened him to return to his home village and start a church. Currently there about about 5 believers who meet in Ioan’s home for fellowship. Our student missions team came alongside this new church plant helping them with evangelism and encouraging them in their faith.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

With the hot summer days many people spend time outside so this made it easy to meet people and talk with them about the Lord. Since only about 50% or fewer understand Russian each team that went out to share the gospel had at least one or two Romanian speakers with them.<\/p>\n

One one occasion several men angerly opposed our students and threatened violence, however, many others were open to talk about the Bible and engage in discussions about sin, death and the need for salvation, they also gratefully accepted Bibles. At first a few of the older villagers refused Bibles because their eye sight was poor and they had no reading glasses. Thankfully, our students had also brought along a box of used eye glasses! Free eye glasses not only opened their eyes but also their hearts to the truth of God’s Word!<\/p>\n

The small group of believers was very encouraged by the work the students accomplished in their village and as a result the local believers felt more confident to share the Gospel themselves.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
