I made it to Cherkassy this morning on the train. The train arrived just after 5:00 am. It was very hot when I boarded the train in Odessa and I was expecting a long and hot night. However, as we headed north the weather got cooler and there was a big thunderstorm.<\/p>\n

By the time I decided to lay down and get some sleep it was raining and I couldn’t get my get the window to close. I was on the upper bunk right at the level of the window. I eventually turned around so my feet were next to the window and covered them with my blanket. I did get some sleep, but not a whole lot.<\/p>\n

In the picture below you can see what the train car looked like on the inside. I was riding “Platz Cart” or “economy class” and my bed was about halfway down up above on the left side.<\/p>\n

Christina’s dad, Vladimir, meet me at the train station in Cherkassy. It was great to see Christina’s parents and her brother Serj.<\/p>\n
