Does God really have a wonderful plan for your life? Sometimes we begin our evangelism with that statement, “God has a wonderful plan for your life!”<\/p>\n
But I want to think about that with you for just a moment. Does God really have a wonderful plan for your life? What do unbelievers think when you make a statement like that?<\/p>\n
For instance, what if the person is very rich and you are sharing the gospel with them and you say, “hey, God has a wonderful plan for
\nyour life.” What do they think?<\/p>\n
Maybe they think, “Well great, God wants to give me several more million dollars or another home or another car.” Or maybe they think, “I already have a wonderful life, why would I want God’s wonderful plan when the plan I created for myself fits me
\njust fine?”<\/p>\n
Ok, well maybe don’t share the gospel with rich people that much but what if you are sharing the gospel with a poor person and
\nyou say, “God has a wonderful plan for your life!” What do they think?<\/p>\n
They probably also think “Ok, that must mean that God is going to help me get out of debt or he’s going to give a good job or give me
\na car or something like that.” What I’m saying is that when we say that God has a wonderful plan for your life it can be greatly mistaken and misunderstood by unbelievers.<\/p>\n
I’m not really sure that’s the best way to start a conversation about the gospel. You see because Jesus says that you should “come after me and pick up your cross.” There are difficult things in the gospel that we are not guaranteed that God will remove all problems from our lives. There may be still sickness, there may be persecution, we might have difficult times with finances, we might have difficult relationships, but the gospel is worth it.<\/p>\n
So, here’s is what I would suggest to you, instead of telling people that God has a wonderful plan for their life, tell people that God
\nis wonderful, tell them that he has a wonderful plan of salvation. Tell them about that wonderful God and tell them about that wonderful plan so that they will understand that the gospel is worth it, it is worth it to put their faith in Christ and if they put their faith in Christ they may experience difficulties in their life but it is all worth it because ultimately the gospel is about eternity not about temporary things here on earth.<\/p>\n
So lets be careful when we share the gospel with the words we use and how approach the gospel and always think about the person we are sharing the gospel with. How do they understand what I’m saying and is it really helping them to understand the glorious and wonderful gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
